Hanoi, Vietnam
Street food here isn't just eating—it's the whole experience. Small family-run spots, the sounds, the smells, conversations over bowls that cost less than a coffee back home but taste like they contain generations of knowledge.
Real moments from my travels—the places that stayed with me, and why they might inspire your next journey.
A region that rewards curiosity — street food cities, lantern-lit towns, ancient temples reclaimed by jungle, cloud-level landscapes, and coastlines designed for slowing down.
These are the kinds of journeys I design for clients — thoughtful pacing, local insight, and experiences that feel personal rather than packaged.

A place where time stretches. Cruising between limestone islands, mornings that begin with still water and misty horizons, evenings softened by light reflecting off the bay. Halong Bay isn’t rushed — it’s experienced slowly, one view at a time.
Ba Na Hills felt like a fantasy land in the clouds — the famous Golden Bridge held by giant stone hands, and somehow even more surreal in real life than in photos.
Ancient temples reclaimed by the jungle, quiet grandeur at Angkor Wat, and stories shared by a local guide whose life had been shaped by war and peacekeeping. Some places leave you in awe — not just of what was built, but of what has been endured.
Places where the past lives in architecture, art, and rituals — where history isn't just studied, it's felt.
These destinations reveal stories through museums, monuments, and moments that connect us to something larger than ourselves.
Rome has a way of making history feel alive. Exploring the city with my life partner and our eight-year-old brought that feeling into sharp focus — a child too young to have seen Gladiator, yet completely absorbed by kid-friendly audio guides, wide-eyed at the Colosseum and eager to listen, learn, and imagine. Between pizzas, gelatos, and bowls of authentic Alfredo, we moved through layers of time — from the Trevi Fountain to the Vatican, amazed that crossing into another country could take less than a minute. Standing beneath the Sistine Chapel, it was impossible not to feel connected to something far bigger than ourselves.
Budapest is a city where history is impossible to look away from. The Terror Museum was heartbreaking — a stark reminder of life under two oppressive regimes, and of how recent that past still is. Walking along the Danube, surrounded by grand architecture and quiet monuments, it felt like history was etched into every stone. And yet, the contrast was striking: an adults-only weekend stay in a beautiful five-star hotel, panoramic views, and moments of stillness. Budapest holds space for both — remembrance and refinement — and asks you to feel them together.
Prague feels like a city built from stories — Gothic spires, cobbled streets, bridges and castles that carry centuries with ease. Exploring it with three generations together made the experience even more meaningful. Watching history unfold through curious eyes, sharing quiet moments with grandparents, and slowing down to take it all in reminded us that culture isn't just something we visit — it's something we pass on.
Barcelona unfolded as a city of imagination and energy. Before the focus shifted to a week of intense junior tennis training for our 13-year-old, we spent our days immersed in Gaudí's world — the soaring curves of the Sagrada Família, the playful colours of Park Güell, and views from Casa Batlló that felt more like art than architecture. Wandering the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla, sharing tapas and cocktails, exploring the Picasso Museum, and ending days by the beach gave the city its rhythm. Experiencing Barcelona together — culture, creativity, and purpose intertwined — made the transition from exploration to discipline feel both grounding and inspiring.
Sometimes the best trips begin with business and end with adventure — conferences that turn into city explorations, work commitments that leave room for discovery.
These are destinations where professional and personal blend, proving that travel doesn't always have to be all or nothing — it can be both.
A work trip that felt human — awards and teamwork by day, long dinners, shared wine, and late-night walks through Paris by night. When professional moments leave room for connection, the city becomes part of the experience.
Madrid brought together celebration, connection, and joy in ways that felt effortless. Between company awards and team milestones, we explored the city's vibrant LGBTQ+ district — pride-filled streets, welcoming gay bars, and a night of silent drag comedy shared with some of my favourite colleagues. Coffee breaks and long lunch strolls turned into conversations about work, life, and everything in between. A reminder that when people feel free to be themselves, work trips don't just build teams — they build lasting bonds.
Boston was a week of momentum — early starts, long days in strategy sessions, strength-finder workshops, coaching conversations, and getting to know a new leadership team. Between meetings, the city made its presence felt: oysters and lobster rolls by the dock, the small shock of a $6 black coffee (plus gratuity) and a $15 "simple" sandwich, and evenings that eased the pace with beer taps, tastings, and good food. It was demanding, energising, and a reminder that when work and life intersect well, even the busiest trips can feel meaningful.
Abu Dhabi was a trip defined by delivery — three packed days of client work, long hours, and focus, with little space in between. Staying at a five-star hotel and moving through a city of striking skyscrapers and carefully shaped spaces, I became more aware of contrast than comfort. It wasn't dissatisfaction, just reflection — missing the green, the rain, and the quiet familiarity of home. Experiencing a culture so different from what I expected, both in work and in daily life, was a reminder that travel doesn't always energise in the same way — sometimes it simply teaches you what you value most.
